REVIEW: My Race Car by Michael Rex

by KittyCat on May 18, 2009

Lucas picked this book off the library shelf himself and Hubby and I must have read this book at least 3 times a week last month.
“My Race Car” begins with a little boy playing with his race cars in the room and then he imagines himself at a real stock car race. The book [...]

I remember this story from a  collection of books I read as a kid called “A Child’s World”.
Browsing through the bookshelves, I was happy to find “The Little Engine That Could” at the library for my train-crazy toddler.
What’s more, it’s the original edition by Watty Piper

Last week, when Lucas returned from preschool, I told him that the postman had a “present” for him.
Of course, he couldn’t wait to open the box and was *really excited* when he saw these 4 books:

by KittyCat on April 10, 2009

At HKD175, it’s quite pricey but since it’s a collection of the original stories (and illustrations!) on Thomas, Percy, Toby, Edward, Gordon, Henry and James, we bought it for Lucas.
He loved listening to the stories (which seems to be the source [...]

Diarrhea and vomiting have been far too frequent since our move to China that I find Dr. Charlotte Cowan’s “The Moose with Loose Poops” a useful book to read with my toddler.
A board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a mother and a former English teacher, Dr. Cowan
“offers a clear and childfriendly explanation of gastroenteritis…she captures the [...]

Browsing through the Popular bookstore one afternoon, I was delighted to find this set of 4 books in a cute, cardboard suitcase.
I’ve never read the Paddington Bear series (until I had a child) but was immediately attracted by the bear in his big, floppy hat.
Although the suitcase was a bit scuffed and dog-eared, the hardcover [...]
