I was delighted at the chance to review this latest offering from AVG Technologies AVG Internet Security + PC Tuneup 3user 2012
Now, this tech company is talking the talk because they believe that
“…technology must be congruous to our lives—constantly changing and adapting based on what’s happening, and simple and effective—enabling us to live our lives and not holding us back in any way.”
I am on the Net everyday since I’m looking for teaching resources, replying to students’ emails and even chatting with them IF they have any problems with their assignments 
And these kids, once you’re on their email, they’ll send LOADS of funny stuff, which I’m quite reluctant to download for fear of malware, spyware, trojan horses, viruses and goodness know what other internet threats there are nowadays!
About AVG Internet Security 2012 – The Complete Virus Protection
Here’s a cool software that:
- protects your computer AND speeds it up
- blocks hackers and stop identity thieves – I’d certainly appreciate this feature because my blog has been hacked too many times -_-
- smart scanning that works when you’re away from the PC so no interruption when you’re surfing (or gaming)
- keeps messaging free from spam, worms and scams – yippee for bloggers who like to exchange files via MSN or Yahoo and the coolest of all…
- protects your social network - so much sharing is happening on Facebook but you definitely don’t want to (unintentionally) share your viruses with your friends. Neither do you want to get their viruses so AVG’s Internet Security 2012 is the software bloggers like you and I need
Now, let’s see how the AVG Internet Security 2012 works its magic, shall we?
Setting up…
1. The installer (3.7 MB) took only minutes to download and after a click or two, I came to this overview that showed me that everything is in order and drew my attention to the PC Analyzer:

2. I knew that the old laptop was in a bad shape but it was good to know how bad a shape it’s in. AVG Internet Security 2012 showed me that I had serious problems with my registry and junk files.
I’m not a techie so clicking on “Details…” I learned that the consequences the respective errors would have on my PC. Really useful information!
Fixing…
3. AVG then offers to fix these errors once for free and so off I went to get my free tune-up here.
I had a bit of a problem here because AVG automatically channeled towards its China site, which was all in Chinese. Since English-speaking folks also visit and live in China now, maybe AVG would like to consider providing an English version for their China-based visitors?
To get around this, I logged on to my VPN and then I could download AVG’s PC Tune-Up:
All done!
4. Yay!!! The 4,000 over errors have been fixed!
Thank you so much, AVG Technologies, for cleaning up my laptop. Everything’s in tip-top condition now and the laptop does run faster now that it’s all cleaned up. Feels as good as new
