“Hannah Montana: The Movie” – The Climb

September 3, 2011

I know I’m a bit late in catching up with this blockbuster movie but hey, I’m glad I picked it out of the DVD store.

If you haven’t watched Hannah Montana: The Movieyet, it’s about a young songstress (about 15 years old?) named Hannah Montana who lives in LA.

She’s from a small town, Tennessee, which is around the area where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Rascall Flatt come from, but for some reason, she does not want her legion of fans to know this. Probably does not want to be known as hick town girl? Sigh.

At the same time, her father (played by real father, Billy Ray Cyrus), thinks that fame and LA is getting to her head when she gets into a cat fight with Tyra Banks and she chooses to go for a PR event in New York instead of her Grandma’s birthday.

“Hannah” or Miley finds herself back in Tennessee but after all the glamour and glitz, she seemed to have forgotten the love she had for the people and the places she’d grew up with. Her Grandma sets her straight and so does a cute and charming cowboy, a childhood friend named Travis Brody (Lucas Till)… :D

It’s a great family movie, especially as it’s rare nowadays to see a Hollywood movie featuring a father and a daughter team with such a loving relationship. The kids love the comical parts, the dance sequences and we also love many of the songs.

We have been trying out the “Hoedown Toedown” steps hahaha ;-)

My favourite song is definitely “The Climb” – Miley Cyrus sings such a soulful song at such a young age. I just can’t stop watching the video or humming the song! If you’d like to sing or play the music on the piano, here’s the sheet music for 18 of the songs on sale:

“The Climb” by Miley Cyrus

I can almost see it.
That dream I’m dreaming, but
There’s a voice inside my head saying
You’ll never reach it

Every step I’m takin’
Every move I make
Feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shakin’
But I gotta keep tryin’
Gotta keep my head held high

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waitin’ on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No, I’m not breaking
I may not know it, but
These are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most
I’ve just gotta keep goin’, and
I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waitin’ on the other side
It’s the climb

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waitin’ on the other side
It’s the climb

Keep on movin’
Keep climbin’
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about, it’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, woah

Besides the song, I’d definitely like to visit the town of Tennessee :D
